Supplementary dental insurance
Why supplementary dental insurance?
For dentures, statutory health insurance only pays a fixed subsidy: 60 % of the cost of the simple standard treatment, up to 75 % with a complete bonus booklet. For implants, ceramics or high-quality fillings you pay the extra costs yourself – usually also for professional teeth cleaning. Supplementary dental insurance protects you from these costs, with up to 100 % reimbursement depending on the tariff.

Dentures & implants
Crowns, bridges, implants: depending on the tariff, 70 to 100 % of the bill is reimbursed – together with the health insurer’s fixed subsidy.
Prevention included
Many tariffs pay for professional teeth cleaning once or twice a year – the statutory insurer gives at most a small subsidy for it.
Sign up early
Ongoing or recommended treatments are usually excluded. If you take out cover while your teeth are healthy, you’re protected when it matters.
Good to know
- Many tariffs limit reimbursement in the first years (graduated limits) or have waiting periods.
- Missing teeth are often not covered or only for an extra charge – that is why we briefly ask about them in the form.
- The amount of your health insurer's fixed subsidy is shown in your dentist's treatment and cost plan.
Our partner's licensed experts will discuss with you personally exactly which cover suits you.
Questions about supplementary dental insurance
Does supplementary dental insurance also pay for ongoing treatment?
Usually not: most tariffs exclude treatment that has already started or been recommended by the dentist. That is why we ask about it in the form – so you only receive offers that suit your situation.
Is there a waiting period?
That depends on the tariff. Some tariffs pay straight away, others only after a few months, and many limit reimbursement in the first years. Our partner's experts show you the differences in the offer.
Is supplementary dental insurance worth it for children?
With children, it’s mainly about braces: statutory health insurance only pays for them in cases of pronounced misalignment. Special tariffs also cover extra costs depending on the benefits – it’s important to take out cover before treatment is recommended.
Do I have to upload my policy?
No, that's optional. With your policy, though, our partner's experts can compare your current cover more precisely and make you a suitable offer faster.
What does reviewing my contracts cost?
Nothing – 100 % free and with no hidden commitment. The check is non-binding. We are paid by the provider or the licensed experts when a new contract is concluded. When you switch electricity or gas, we pass part of this on to you as a bonus; for insurance there is no bonus and no cashback (§ 48b VAG). If you grant the voluntary support mandate, the licensed insurance experts also receive an ongoing commission from the insurers for looking after your contracts (portfolio commission) – this costs you nothing either.
