What matters with car insurance

Motor liability insurance is compulsory for every car: it pays for damage you cause to others – the legal minimum is 7.5 million euros for personal injury. Partial and comprehensive cover also protect your own vehicle. Because premiums for the same cover often differ considerably, comparing regularly pays off.

Ideal for

  • New & used cars
  • New drivers & families
  • Commuters & frequent drivers

Personal call-back in German or Arabic

  • Comprehensive (Vollkasko)

Includes partial cover and also pays for accident damage to your own car that you caused yourself, as well as vandalism – sensible for new and high-value vehicles.

  • Partial cover (Teilkasko)

Protects against theft, fire, glass breakage, storm, hail and collisions with wild animals – for cars that still have a noticeable value.

  • Motor liability

The legally required cover: pays for damage you cause to others with your car – and fends off unjustified claims.

Good to know

  • Most car insurance contracts run until 31 December – you can usually cancel by 30 November.
  • After a premium increase, a settled claim or when you change cars, you can usually switch outside this deadline as well.
  • Your no-claims class belongs to you – you take it with you to your new insurer.

Our partner's licensed experts will discuss with you personally exactly which cover suits you.

Questions about car insurance

When can I switch my car insurance?

Most car insurance policies run until 31 December and can be cancelled with one month's notice – i.e. by 30 November. After a premium increase or a claim there is often a special right of cancellation, and with a different car you take out a new policy anyway. Our partner's experts check the deadlines for you.

What's the difference between partial and comprehensive cover?

Liability cover is compulsory and pays for damage you cause to others. Partial cover (Teilkasko) also pays, for example, for theft, glass breakage, storm, hail or collisions with wild animals. Comprehensive cover (Vollkasko) includes partial cover and also pays for damage to your own car that you cause yourself, as well as vandalism.

Do I keep my no-claims discount when I switch?

Yes. Your no-claims class belongs to you and moves with you to the new insurer. The new insurer usually obtains the proof from the previous one itself.

Do I have to compare offers myself?

No. You enter your details once, our partner's experts check the market personally and suggest suitable options. Whether you switch is up to you.

Is there a bonus for switching?

No. For insurance we offer no bonus and no cashback – § 48b VAG generally prohibits this. Instead we show you honestly whether switching improves your cover or your premium.

Do I have to upload my policy?

No, that's optional. With your policy, though, our partner's experts can compare your current cover more precisely and make you a suitable offer faster.

What does reviewing my contracts cost?

Nothing – 100 % free and with no hidden commitment. The check is non-binding. We are paid by the provider or the licensed experts when a new contract is concluded. When you switch electricity or gas, we pass part of this on to you as a bonus; for insurance there is no bonus and no cashback (§ 48b VAG). If you grant the voluntary support mandate, the licensed insurance experts also receive an ongoing commission from the insurers for looking after your contracts (portfolio commission) – this costs you nothing either.
